Mr. Kailash Chandra Lohia is a pioneering industrialist and entrepreneur of Guwahati, Assam, with a four-decade legacy of building one of the North East’s most diversified business conglomerates. As Chairman of the Lohia Group, he has led the organisation from its inception in 1981 as M/s Bajrang Steel Sales Corporation to a present-day portfolio of close to fifty companies spanning cement, AAC blocks, kraft paper, real estate, education, steel, ferroalloys, and more across Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and beyond.

Under his leadership, the Group has become a market leader in galvanized sheets, MS ingots, bars, ferroalloys, and industrial oxygen in the North East, while establishing prominent brands such as Topcem Cement and Subham Realty. A man of iron will and firm resolve, Mr. Lohia chose to remain and invest in Assam during the challenging years of regional insurgency in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when many contemporaries shifted base, demonstrating exceptional foresight and commitment to the region’s prosperity.

Beyond business, Mr. Lohia is a dedicated philanthropist and community contributor. He is a life member of the Lions Club of Gauhati and has been honoured for his exemplary service to society. Through the Lohia Charitable Trust and the Group’s CSR initiatives, he has supported healthcare (including free medical camps, eye check-ups, cancer awareness, and cleft surgery programmes in partnership with Mission Smile), disaster relief (with consistent contributions to the Assam Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund), education (adopting 150 schools in underprivileged villages in collaboration with Ekal Vidyalaya), and environmental sustainability.

Mr. Om Prakash Gattani is a distinguished entrepreneur and industrialist of Jorhat, Assam, with a rich legacy of business, community engagement and cultural contribution. Over several decades, he has been associated with diverse enterprises in food processing, manufacturing and other commercial activities, including Gattani Roller Flour Mills, Kaziranga Udyog, Cosmos Business and Reliance Food and Proteins, besides his association with Dhansiri Tea Private Limited.

Beyond business, Mr. Gattani has developed a remarkable passion for Assam’s history and heritage. A noted numismatist, he has spent decades collecting and preserving rare coins, with particular interest in the Ahom period, and has been instrumental in promoting awareness of Assam’s rich historical legacy.

He is also a writer and community contributor, having authored a book documenting the history and heritage of the Marwari community of Jorhat. His journey reflects a distinctive blend of entrepreneurship, scholarship, cultural preservation and social commitment.
